Arsenal will revisit their pursuit of Aston Villa's Douglas Luiz during the January break.

Arsenal had three bids for Luiz rejected in September 2022 -- the final offer totalling around £25 million ($31.6m) -- and the Brazil international subsequently signed a new contract which ties him to Villa Park until 2026.

Arsenal have limited funds available after spending more than £200 million in the summer.

Bayern Munich has signed Adelaide United teenager Nestory Irankunda for £2.85 million.

Irankunda’s move to Bayern had been long-expected and was confirmed on Tuesday night.

“I’m happy to have this all finalised and to be heading to one of the best clubs in the world, it’s a real dream come true,” Irankunda said in a statement. “It’s going to be great to be able to see out the season with Adelaide United and try to have some success."

Napoli have hired Walter Mazzarri as their manager after firing Rudi Garcia.

Mazzarri previously managed Napoli from 2009 until 2013.

Napoli sit fourth in Serie A, 10 points behind league leaders Inter Milan. 

Manchester United are refusing to meet with agents they believe are preparing to pitch their clients to replace Erik ten Hag as manager.

Despite a run of nine defeats in 18 games to start the new campaign, Ten Hag continues to have the confidence of key decision makers with United.

The representative of a well-known manager, who is out of work, had a scheduled meeting cancelled because of concerns the conversation would focus on the potential uncertainty surrounding the manager's job.

Barcelona has "total" faith in Xavi Hernandez despite the club's recent dip in form.

Barcelona were defeated 1-0 by Shakhtar Donetsk in Tuesday's Champions League match.

Sources close to Xavi told ESPN that any questions about his future as coach were "out of place" given his track record at the club.

Xavi was hired as manager in 2021.

Inter Miami has agreed to sign Luis Suarez on a one-year deal with an option for a second year.

Suarez, 36, will depart the Porto Alegre-based club at the end of the Brazilian Serie A season in December, despite only being halfway through the two-year contract he signed in December 2022.

Inter Miami also has former Barcelona players Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba. Suarez spent six seasons with Barcelona.

Barcelona are tracking Mexico international Santiago Gimenez.

Gimenez has scored 13 times in 10 Eredivisie matches for Feyenoord.

Baraa have sent various scouts to watch Gimenez since he joined Feyenoord from Cruz Azul in 2022. Gimenez has been compared to Luis Suarez as a goal scorer.
